Oh my. Now, I know Living Proof has a pretty good reputation. I mean, if Jennifer Aniston is your actual living proof, then I am most definitely interested in what you’re selling. Do we need to talk about Jennifer Aniston’s hair? I think not.
But does Living Proof live up to the hype? Imagine my joyful surprise when I received a 1 fl oz (30 ml) tube of one of their most popular products as a sample accompanying a makeup order (thank you, Sephora!) I couldn’t wait to try it.
What Living Proof promises?
Living Proof advertises that they combine beauty and brains, using fancy MIT technology to invent and patent new and never-before-used ingredients for their products. Is it me or does that sound pretty darn fancy? Living Proof’s products really appeal to me in general, with their sleek, simplified packaging and promises of your best hair.
The Perfect Hair Day (or, PhD, pun presumably very much intended) 5-in-1 Styling Treatment promises to:
Quite a promise to live up to…
I have been using this product for the past three months now and I really, really like it! I use a small dollop of the cream and massage it into my wet hair after washing, focusing on the ends and length of my hair, before blowdrying and styling it.
I can definitely tell that this product does smooth and polish my hair. But what was most noticeable to me was that my hair feels extremely “willing and able” after using this product. What I mean by that, is that my styling (whatever it is) lasts all. day. long. And usually even longer than that! Now believe me and my thick, heavy hair when I tell you that that is not something I am used to. Heck, most of the time I don’t even bother curling my hair anymore because it simply does not even last long enough for me to get out the door. With this product however, I really do experience some of my greatest perfect hair days.
I loved the product so much, I purchased the above pictured full size 2 fl oz (60 ml) product. I can even imagine rebuying it when I run out! Mind you, this isn’t always a given for me when I like a product. Even if I love a product, my curiosity for other options may cause me to switch to something new regardless. If I stick with something, I really like it.
And who knew awesome hair could be so affordable! At $15 for 2 oz/60 ml or $27 for 4 oz/118 ml at Sephora, this product isn’t that expensive at all. Ok, it’s not what you would call cheap and there are plenty of much cheaper options available. But it works great and lasts a long time.
I’m a fan!
