Forever Favorite: Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

There are beauty products that I like and ones that I love. When a product withstands the test of time (meaning they continue to make me happy with regular use) I consider the product to be a favorite.

But then there are products that deserve their very own category: the tried and true, the I-will-repurchase-you-until-the-end-of-time products. Those are the products I consider to be my forever favorites.

I would hereby like to introduce you to the first representative of this category:

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette.

I don’t even remember where, when, or how I first learned about this perfume but I also can’t remember a time when I didn’t love it. So many memories and feels are connected to its scent for me, simply smelling it makes me instantly happy.

The love I have for Light Blue is the kind where you can just never go wrong! I doubt there has ever been day on which I decided to wear it and regretted it. I guess you could say that the perfume is very safe, and it probably is. But what’s wrong with that! It’s reliable yet versatile, never boring, and so so fresh! It is suitable many occasions, but above all: Summer = Light Blue.

Ok. I’m sure I’m starting to come across as a little nuts! But let me convince you…

On the outside

Light Blue nonchalantly and humbly packaged. The matte glass flask paired with the silver sprayer and light blue cap give off a modest, sleek, and modern but elegant impression. I adore the light blue, velvety box the perfume comes in!

On the inside

Top notes:
Granny smith apple, cedar, bluebell, and lemon.

Heart notes:
Bamboo, jasmine, and white rose

Base notes:
Citron wood, amber, and musk.

Light Blue is really fresh, fruity, and youthful when you first spray it, but it settles as a warmer musky and flowery scent after a while. Light Blue is never heavy or very present, but always recognizable. The only tiny flaw with Light Blue is that it doesn’t stay noticeably present very long. I would say its longevity is average.

Of course the effect of a perfume may differ from person to person, due to differences in body chemistry.

I sincerely hope Light Blue will stick around for a long time to come!, so I can keep re-purchasing it (and I will!) For now, I believe the odds are in my favor, as the Light Blue has been around since 2001 and is a consistently popular bestseller.

Light Blue is available at Amazon, Sephora, and Ulta among others, ranging in cost from $29 (0.25 oz) up to $130 (6.7 oz).

I say: treat yoself!
